I must confess, I’m not a big fan of jewelry that is pet-related. I’ve never been one to wear necklaces or earrings that have bones or paws on them. But when the owners of Silver Pet Prints contacted me and asked me to do a review, my interest was piqued. Why? Because Silver Pet Prints makes jewelry that has your pet’s paw print on it and I wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity to have a piece of jewelry with Dash’s paw print on it. The idea that I would have something that memorializes Dash – too good to pass up.
The process was ridiculously easy – Silver Pet Prints sent a “Magic Inkless Pet Print Kits” for me to use to take a print of Dash’s paw. It was truly no fuss, no muss. I just took Dash’s paw, wiped it with the provided towelette, and then “stamped” his paw onto the piece of paper provided. Then, I put it in the pre-paid envelope and sent it back to the company!
A few weeks later, my necklace arrived:
Pretty, fab, huh? And the paw print on the charm looks exactly as it did when I stamped Dash’s paw. By the way, the necklace is not sterling silver — it’s fine silver (which means it is 99.9% pure and doesn’t contain any other metals or alloys). The picture really doesn’t do it justice.
Silver Pet Prints doesn’t just do necklaces, though – they also do cufflinks (very cool), key rings, and charms. I’m seriously considering having one done for each of my pets and putting them all on one chain. The only downside is the price – these pieces are pricey, starting at $140, but keep in mind — this jewelry is the real deal. It’s fine silver, and it’s a one-of-a-kind item. It’s also a wonderful way to memorialize your pet. And while I just love my necklace now, I have a feeling that when Dash is gone it’s going to mean a lot more to me. I think that’s well worth the price.
