Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to get hands-on about helping Philadelphia’s homeless pets? Circle Wednesday, January 16th on your calendar, when the Pennsylvania SPCA will be tapping a keg of Pit Bull Ale in your honor – and tapping into your love of pets to join a very special group.
Established in 2010, the Young Friends of the Pennsylvania SPCA is a group of Philadelphia young professionals who support the lifesaving mission of the Pennsylvania SPCA through fund raising, special events, networking, supply drives, education and advocacy. You may remember their signature event, the Bad Dog Ball, which served as the after-party for the PSPCA’s Good Dog Gala in 2010 and 2011.
On January 16th, the Young Friends are kicking off the New Year with a meeting at the Yards Brewery from 5:30-7pm, and they want YOU to join them! Attend the event to enjoy a complementary Pit Bull Ale and light snacks, learn about new programs, services and events you can participate in as a Young Friend, and share your ideas for how to help pets in need. PSPCA CEO Jerry Buckley will be on hand to bring the group up to speed on all 2013 holds in store for the shelter.
At the meeting, you’ll have the chance to sign up for different projects in the works; attendance itself doesn’t obligate you to do anything. So if you’re curious, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 11th to reserve your spot. A $10 donation at the door is recommended, and much-appreciated!
Don’t miss this opportunity to see how rewarding becoming a Young Friend can be. Not only can you make a difference in the lives of the animals and staff at the Pennsylvania SPCA, but you get to network with a group of like-minded professionals, have fun – and maybe even meet some new friends!
