Did you know that it’s Responsible Pet Owners month? I must confess, I did not. I like to think that I’m a responsible pet owner, but there’s always room for improvement – especially when it comes to my dog’s (okay, my cat’s too) health. Really keeping a pet healthy goes far beyond just remembering the annual vet visit and being up-to-date on shots. Or remembering the flea & tick medication every month. It means getting exercise, plenty of playtime, grooming and lots of teeth brushing. I honestly didn’t fully realize the important of tending to these daily needs until I adopted Finn, who was a severe neglect case from ACCT. Daily care makes a difference.
So, in the spirit of promoting responsible pet ownership, Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, along with actress Tiffani Thiessen, are spear-heading a campaign to educate pet owners during Responsible Pet Owners Month. The emBARK on Pet Health campaign asks pet owners to take the pledge to become more mindful of their pet’s ongoing needs. I took it, and I hope you do, too. Just head over to www.embarkonpethealth.com – for each pledge, Sergeant’s will donate up to 5,000 Pet Health Kits that the American Humane Association will distribute to animals in local shelters across the nation. The health kit will contain Sergeant’s Whiff Shampoo, PurLuv Sizzlin’ Strips, a Sentry Petrodex dental kit, a Sentry Calming Coller, and Sergeant’s Vetscription Joint Eze Plus.
How can you help? First, take the Embark Pledge so that a Pet Health Kit will get donated to a shelter. Then, come to the Twitter Party with Tiffani Theissan on Wednesday, February 20th at 7 pm – use hashtag #SergeantsPet. You can RSVP here, but it’s not required. Make sure you are following ThePhillyDog (@ThePhillyDog), Tiffani Thiessen (@TAThiessen) and Sergeant’s(@SergeantsPet). Never been to a twitter party before? Check out this guide on how to participate!
ThePhillyDog.com was compensated by Sergeant’s for this post and received a sample Pet Health Care kit.
