We’re excited to be a partner of the Dog Days at Dilworth Park 2016. Sponsored by TD Bank, Dog Days is a tribute to all Philly Dogs and their owners. The event will take place August 30, 31st and September 1st from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Dilworth Park near City Hall.

It’s just another example of why Philadelphia is so dog friendly! Each day you can bring your dog to the Dog Days at Dilworth booth and meet local pet product service providers Muttropolitan Pet Sitting & Dog Walking, pet supply retailers, and even ask questions of a professional trainer. In addition, local rescues PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society and Morris Animal Refuge will be on site with adoptable pets. You can also get information on how you can volunteer, help support their missions, or how to adopt your own furry friend.

Dog parks are popping up all over the country.  In the Philadelphia area, there are dozens of places where you can let your dog off leash to run and play with the other pooches.  But if you’ve ever been to a dog park, you’ve probably noticed that there’s a strange subculture that exists inside the fences. Today, an hour on the characters and culture of dog parks. We begin with a look at the parks in our region with REBECCA BRAGLIO, founder of ThePhillyDog.com blog.  Then, Boston Globe TV critic and first time dog owner MATTHEW GILBERT tells Marty about his introduction to park life while socializing his yellow lab puppy Toby.  He’s written a memoir about his adventures and observations on dog parks called Off the Leash.

Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane can be heard over the airwaves from 10-11 a.m. and 11-noon Eastern time weekdays on 90.9 FM in the Delaware Valley, and rebroadcast from 11-midnight as well.
