Hi, my name is Mario! I am a gorgeous pit mix (probably with some Chocolate Lab) with a HUGE head and puppy dog eyes. I’ve lost track of time, but they think I’m about 1-2 years old. I’m looking for someone who appreciates a dog who is energetic and fun, but also wants to cuddle with me. I’ve already learned “sit” and “down” and I’m working on “stay”. I want you to teach me SO much more! I even learned how to stay in this thing called a crate–I actually kinda like it!. Last night, the girls at the shelter put this coat on me (see pics)–I must say that I’m pretty darn handsome in it! I like some dogs, but don’t want to be bothered by others. If I’m not the only one in your home, I can probably live with the right low-key female dog. Everyone here loves me so much, and they don’t understand why I haven’t been adopted yet. I’ve handled living in this place as best I can, but REALLY want to find my furever home.
Oh, and there’s this great program at the shelter called Pen Pals. A volunteer picks their favorite dog at the shelter and spends all of their time with them. They train them, socialize them, and just hang out with them…My Pen Pal loves me SO much, and she only wants me to find the very BEST home…Could that be yours?

Mario is an absolute doll! He’s a staff and volunteer favorite at the shelter. When he sees you walking towards him, he gets so excited! Please consider adding Mario to your family–you won’t regret it!
I have had the pleasure of meeting Mario and walking him many times at the shelter. He is just a joy to be around. Such a happy playful puppy who just wants a family of his own where he can settle in and enjoy all that being a family pet entails. Please give this handsome boy a chance! He’s definitely worth it!!!
Mario is an amazing dog with the biggest puppy dog eyes ever!! He is super sweet and just loves to be near you! As soon as you start to walk down the row of dogs that he is in at the shelter he comes right to the front of his cage and is very excited to see you. He has a wonderful Pen Pal Christina that is working with him and he is a quick learner that wants to please. The only thing Mario is missing is a loving forever family. Could you be who Mario is looking for?
I have had the pleasure of working with Mario. He is a great dog, and I would be the perfect cure for someone’s doglessness. He just has to get adopted! If I could, I would take him in a second.

Mario is wonderful. I have had the opportunity to meet him a few times. He has a way of making you stop and talk to him every time you walk through the shelter.
