As part of my order from www.k9cuisine.com, I received a 2 pack bag of Churpi Chews. For generations the people of the Himalayan highlands have been making Churpi.  Before chewing gum made it to Nepal, locals were occupying their mouths with a home grown variety of snack food known as churpi. The ultra hard dried cheese is still popular among Nepalis today. Churpi is produced mainly in Nepal’s hill regions and is made from dried cow, buffalo or yak buttermilk or yoghurt. It’s eaten either on its own as a kind of cheesy all-day sucker or softened up in soups.

Retailing for $8.79 for 2 small pieces, Churpi Chews are rock hard and about 4-6 inches long and 2 inches thick. This rock hard Churpi is made from yak milk, salt and lime juice. No chemicals or preservatives are used in the making of this unique long lasting human grade treat.

Dash initially didn’t know what to do with his Churpi Chew. At first, he just licked it. The he settled down and chewed on it for a little bit, but soon gave up. I don’t know if he just wasn’t interested in chewing on it at the moment or whether he didn’t like it. I did notice a few days later it had some more nibbles to it.

This would be a good treat for a small to medium size dog who loves to chew. The Chew is as hard as a rock and can’t be broken into two. It should make for a long-lasting treat.
